Birdstriking burst out of the Beijing music scene to make their debut visit to Australia with a headline show at the Curtin. They’ve already started to catch the attention of some high profile fans, such as Anton Newcombe of the Brian Jonestown Massacre. After their debut album was banned in their native China, Newcombe took it upon himself to re-release the album on his label, A Recordings and invited the band to support the Brian Jonestown Massacre on their 2014 UK tour. Birdstriking’s sound blends melodic, hook laden guitar riffs with a generous dash of noise and a punk rock attitude and energy.
Also appearing will be fellow Beijingers White+ featuring Zhang Shouwang of Carsick Cars.
